Meet Dr. Boyd
Dr. Kelly Boyd is a licensed psychologist in Austin, Texas. She is the founder of The Center for Counseling and Reproductive Psychology and currently maintains a full time private practice. Her area of expertise involves working with various reproductive traumas including infertility, miscarriage, high risk pregnancy/delivery, pregnancy and postpartum mood disorders, perinatal grief and loss, hysterectomy and menopause.
Dr. Boyd facilitates a weekly support group for new mothers struggling with postpartum depression/anxiety, and conducts regular conferences and workshops on the topic of maternal mental health. She co-founded the San Diego Postpartum Health Alliance, and currently is a Texas co-coordinator for Postpartum Support International. Dr. Boyd also serves on the Ethics committee for St. David’s Hospital in Austin, TX, and is on the Advisory Board for The Association of Reproductive Health Professionals.
Dr. Boyd's approach to therapy is collaborative and interpersonal. She feels that it is important to meet each individual clients needs. She believes each person brings to therapy their own unique set of issues, personality, life experiences and coping skills. She is passionate about helping people grow emotionally in whatever obstacles they may be facing. Dr. Boyd also feels that it is important to educate extended family members, the community, and health professionals about reproductive trauma and related issues.
